It’s been a while since we did an update on the blog (apologies 21 turned out way busier than we expected) not such a bad thing though i guess considering all the stop starts that everyone has had to deal with since 2020!
After the success of delivering our meal kits locally in 2020 and at the beginning of 2021 we thought we would have a go at sending them nationwide to see how it would turn out, unfortunately after hitting several snags with different couriers that we tried and just the general slow uptake on the kits at that point (most likely due to everyone getting back to “normality”) we decided to concentrate on live events for the spring/summer.
We kicked off a great May with a residency at the fabulous Neighbougood Market in Stockbridge Edinburgh. The market was born out of the Covid crisis whereby mobile food and drink traders are giving the opportunity to trade in an open space and customers could chill in their own designated bubbles maintaining the social distancing measures that were in place at the time, the good news is that despite Covid restrictions being lifted it looks like The Neighbourgood is here to stay with plans to go again this year 😊
During the summer we traded at some other new cool venues featuring a couple of Bellfield Brewery pop ups (the best gluten free beer in the UK in our opinion) you can find these guys in the Easter Road area of Edinburgh..such a great taproom with outdoor seating too!
Bowhouse in Fife was another fantastic venue we have been buzzing to trade at for a couple of years so it was great to finally get the opportunity to trade a couple of times there last year. They have so many amazing local food and drink suppliers from around Fife and beyond who pitch up within the Bowhouse warehouse to offer a great weekend trip, we highly recommend a visit!
We made our returns to Big Feed in Glasgow and The Pitt in Edinburgh, in fact one of our visits to The Pitt was taking part in the British Streetfood Awards Scottish Finals! It was a great sunny weekend and we got to meet even more great fellow foodie traders (Scotland has some talent) many food swaps were had too 😛
September brought us an autumnal festival season, most of the festivals we did would normally have taken place in June and July but because of Covid they were pushed back a few month. We finished off at the Playground and Food Truck Festivals in Rouken Glen in Glasgow, but before that managed to fit in The Riverside dance Festival on the Clyde at the Riverside Museum and amazingly managing two pitches at the massive TRNSMT!
We purchased a few additions for the business too with that hectic festival schedule so now we are able to be in two places at once with our new gazebo set up and double up with the van to cater big big numbers!
We finished off 2021 with a winter residency with the guys at Edinburgh International Festival, trading at their HQ at the top of the Royal Mlie just below Edinburgh Castle. It was a great way to spend the festive season and to bring in 2022!
We’ve even managed to fit in a few private weddings and birthdays too while learning on the job how to parent a 1 year old who wants all the attention (and rightly so) 😊
We have lots planned for 2022 and first off is a special 3 course Valentines meal kit, if the demand is still there then there will definitely be more kits up for grabs this year…
We are also starting up our take away service through Deliveroo in February. It’s took them long enough to come to the Wee County but now they are here we feel we had to get in on the action, who doesn’t love Deliveroo right! With a great ethos at the heart of their business values we felt they were always going to be our food partner choice for takeout.
Delivering within 4 miles of our Alloa base but also available for pick up too if this one takes off we may look to delivering a little further afield.
Stay tuned for more events and plans coming soon 🧡

Our last blog was way back in April last year and since then we have had so much happen.
First up it's been amazing to finally be experiencing what it's like to be a parent, it's the best job in the world (bar none) our wee man Arthur is the best thing to have ever happened to both of us and one of the reasons 2020 hasn't been all that bad😊
We had the chance to work with the folks over at the amazing Kind Kitchen, delivering our food to those that need it most in the community. By working alongside food banks and community support hubs the Kind Kitchen worked tirelessly to feed so many people who had been affected by lockdown.
It's been a very humbling experience for us and we are so glad that we managed to contribute to the great work they did🧡
Our meal kits have also been a fantastic success! As it's grown bigger we have developed the kits and tweaked them here and there, introducing many more options for you to try out.
We've also listened to feedback from you lovely lot too and have added ideas like kids options and build your own dessert kits to the choices so now there is even more choice for everyone. We will continue to listen to feedback on what you guys are looking for in the kits and will do our best to refine them even more in the coming months.
Although most of 2020 was lockdown for us we still managed to get out and about with Ronnie and the gazebo for a few fun events. We managed to get over to Glasgow and catch up with our friends at Big Feed which is always amazing, we served up loads of hungry cinema goers at the parking lot social in Dalkeith Park in the summer and only last month we managed to get out at the annual Edinburgh Christmas Trail at The Botanics. It was the second year for us trading here and it was as much fun as the first year we attended!
It's been nice to have still had a few things to look forward to during all the doom and gloom of lockdown and our philosophy is you should always look for the good in every situation which is what we have done throughout.
Winning the virtual Scottish Street Food award 2020 was a great way to end the year on a high too and having Ronnie our Citroen as one of the finalists in The British Street Food Awards Best looking food truck was another highlight to the year!
Going forward who knows what this year is going to bring for everyone and the hospitality industry but we are looking on it as optimistic. We have a plan A, B and even a C and D if needed so we will be keeping busy in some sort of capacity however it all pans out.
Regardless of what happens expect to see a lot of new fun ideas that we plan on rolling out along the way. Stay safe and well and hopefully we can all catch up at an event sometime in the very near future!

We initailly planned on doing the odd weekend here and there and going into it full time at the begining of next year but there is such a huge demand out there for people and companies wanting bespoke mobile catering that we decided to kick it into 5th gear straight away. And to be honest, it is the best decison we could have made!
In the 3 months we have been going we have attended some amazing farmers and street food markets, served a thousand Cubanos and Bhan Mi's at a dance festival, catered for two cool hen parties, a 21st a 50th and, in a couple of weeks time we will be attending our very first wedding!
Throw in a Game Fair weekend down in Dumfries, The Wallace Monuments 150th anniversary and a nice sunny stint at Ocean terminal shopping centre into the mix, you can say we have seen a fair bit already, but we have so much fun events and venues coming up before the end of the year (keep posted for locations).
we will also be attending The Hopetoun House Wedding Show on October the 6th for anybody who comes across us looking for info on what we do for private event catering and to see what we can do all things weddings!
We will have Ronnie set up in all his glory, just how we intend to have him for that special day. We will also be sampling food off our events packages. Its free to attend so drop us a message in the contacts page to let us know if you can make it and we will stick you on our attendees lists.
Keep posted for how we get on in October, we have some belters lined up😝🎃🎇🔥
